5 Poplar Home Learning

After a very busy day with some incredibly exciting activities with Super Schools this morning...and a very busy week with some brilliant work, great team work and fantastic thinking happening in 5 Poplar, we have decided not to set any spellings or our usual 'homework' this week.

Instead, I have asked 5 Poplar to go home and get creative in whatever way they would like to, but sticking to our topic of 'The Ancient Greeks'.

This could be a presentation or poster they make online (don't forget to use google to share it with me!), a picture, a model, a story (the Greeks loved their myths!)... anything that they are INSPIRED by.

I'd love to see some of their work appear on Monday, or any time next week. We'll enjoy sharing our learning and I look forward to dishing out some inspire points next week!

In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend - relax, enjoy time outdoors and spend time with your friends and families!

No Pens Day - Tangrams

For part of our Maths on 'No Pens Day' in 5 Poplar we had a go at using Tangam shapes to create pictures.

We found it required a lot of thinking!
We had to be really focused on our shapes and pictures.

We learnt that when we persevere, we can succeed! (and when we succeed we feel very pleased with ourselves!)

Clay (Round 1)

We played with clay and experimented with it to give us an idea of how we want to create our Greek Pots on 'No Pens Day'. We looked at how water can be used as glue and will soon have a trial run of painting. Perhaps pushing it if we think we may be in for a chance with a spick and span award this week.
