Year 5 have had a fantastic day learning about friction, gravity and air resistance as part of wheels day! The children enjoyed experimenting with their own sets of wheels and were all very well behaved!

Super Science - Friction
Today we have investigated the effect friction has on moving objects. Is jelly harder to pick up with chopsticks if it is covered in oil (when there is less friction)?

Grippiest shoe competition! - Science
This afternoon, Poplar carried out a competition to find out who has the grippiest shoe! This was part of our Science learning for this half term, and we were discussing how friction works. The children had great fun and Izzy's shoe was the grippiest! We also looked at the difference in friction of jelly when we added olive oil!
