Description Action Dialogue - DAD

This week we are looking at interweaving descriptions of characters and settings, actions and dialogue in our stories.
Here we see that good writings use chop and change between them often.
Then in pairs, we had a great time trying to write our little story extract together.

Mixed numbers and Improper fraction

This week we have been remembering all about equivalent fractions and how you use them to compare and order fractions and add and subtract them.
We also looked at how Mixed numbers and improper fractions are related and worked out how to convert one to the other. Can you explain how to a friend?

Forensic Scientists for the afternoon

We carried out some tests like real Forensic Scientists do.
First we bit into a polystyrene cup and compared or teeth marks. Next Mrs Cheeseman showed us how they analyse different pens using a technique called Chromatography. Finally we took our own finger prints and compared the patterns in them to a reference chart.
